How Botcopy 2.0 lets your website “hear” what your chatbot is doing and why it matters.
Botcopy 2.0’s Window Event Listeners are a new way for your website to react to what’s going on with your chatbot. You can now personalize the website experience in countless ways, further boosting engagement and results.
You may already know that the Botcopy chat window can respond to things happening on your website. We call those “window triggers.”
But Window Event Listeners are the exact opposite of window triggers. Instead of your chat window responding to website activity, your website responds to your chat window.
When your website can respond and adapts to whatever’s happening with your chatbot, a world of possibilities open up.
Here’s an example below. Before we click and open the chatbot, our website looks vivid.
But take a look at what happens when we click on our chatbot. The website automatically fades out a bit, drawing attention to the chatbot.
The background fade-out is just one straightforward example of a Window Event Listener in action.

In our Window Events section, you’ll find instructions and the Javascript snippets you’ll need to create event listeners.
There‘s a significant variety of switches available to try out. In our fade-out example, we used the Open Window switch.
We added the Javascript code to our website, inserted the Open Window switch, and wrote some simple jQuery for the fade-out instructions. See below.
